On March 23, 2022, the U.S. Senate introduced legislation, titled the Healthcare Cybersecurity Act of 2022, to enhance the cybersecurity of the healthcare and public health sectors.
The act aims to study, understand, improve, and generally strengthen healthcare cybersecurity and infrastructure through a partnership between the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Additionally, the act looks to support training and education efforts for asset owners and operations in the healthcare industry in order to better manage risks.
