Alden Katagihara is a Senior Director at Ankura, based in Los Angeles. He’s experienced in valuations and appraisals, appraisal reviews, financial reporting (ASC 805 – Purchase Price Allocations, ASC 820 – Fair Value, ASC 360 – Impairment Testing), litigation support, acquisitions and loan portfolio due diligences, market and feasibility analysis, highest and best use analysis, disposition, financial, and market research services. Alden has over 11 years of real estate valuation experience, working with corporations, law firms, financial lending institutions, private developers, REITs, public and private universities, and state and local entities on properties located throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Experience
Throughout his career, Alden has performed property valuations, appraisals, and appraisal reviews on a wide variety of property types comprising of office, retail, service-commercial, mixed-use, industrial, self-storage, religious facilities, car washes/auto-service, multi-family, parking lots, raw land and specialty properties including golf courses, hospitals, stadiums, campgrounds, and shipping ports.
Prior to joining Ankura, Alden was a Senior Manager at a business advisory firm in their valuation and business analytics group. Previous to that, he was a manager at a consulting group in both their Real Estate and Environmental Economics group and P3, Infrastructure and Real Estate Advisory group. He’s also worked for two California based fee appraisal firms.
Alden is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI), a chartered member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), is a state certified general real estate appraiser in multiple states and is a licensed real estate broker in California.
