Justin Owens is a Managing Director at Ankura based in New York. As a driven finance professional with a diversity of experience and proven results, he is able to focus on high-level goals while being detail oriented, analytical, and results driven in the short and long term.

Experience

Justin has a history of working with and building cross functional teams to streamline processes and improve both financial and operational results. As a manager in corporate finance at an automotive multinational corporation, he was responsible for consolidation, financial analysis, and presentation of $9 billion global operations spanning 10 regions, and held international operation management along with financial, product, and administrative responsibilities. He led the global forecasting and annual budget and long-term plan analysis processes, managed global volume production, and created business models to assess business opportunities.

In addition, Justin spearheaded initiatives to streamline and automate data collection, created dashboards for C-suite executives, and performed competitive benchmark analyses. He created the financial model and direct operational finance for the industry’s first on demand subscription vehicle service, and also led the transition from pilot program to rollout in three cities, directing program operations and finance, and managing over $100 million in operational cashflow.

Justin has also served as a long/short global macro portfolio manager at a brokerage firm, a fixed income and derivatives portfolio manager at a financial services firm, and a fixed income proprietary trader at an investment firm.

Justin’s professional experience includes:

  • Serving on the financial advisory team for the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee of a $10 billion car rental company.
  • Managing financial modeling for the restructuring of a $1 billion international technology firm.
  • Working with an aftermarket parts company to improve inventory management and the cash conversion cycle.
