Katy Dettman
Managing Director
Katy Dettman is a Managing Director at Ankura Office of the CFO® based in Chicago, where she specializes in healthcare accounting/finance, internal audit, and management consulting. Katy has extensive experience across a variety of healthcare providers including hospitals, health systems, physician practices, and post-acute care. Katy has transformed and led finance processes and teams across the healthcare industry and is particularly adept at diagnosing companies’ bottlenecks and systemically working through solutions for her clients.
Experience
Katy supports her clients across finance and accounting functions, including technical accounting and reporting needs, outsourcing/co-sourcing, staff training/education, and special projects.
Katy has provided hands-on leadership serving in numerous interim roles, including:
- Interim Controller for multi-location, national leader in dermatology and cosmetic services
- Interim Controller/Accounting Leader for multi-location, large regional radiology practice
- Interim Chief Accounting Officer for multi-location, national, physician-owned provider of emergency medicine, hospitalist, and observation services
- Interim Associate Vice President of Finance/Corporate Controller for large academic health system
Prior to joining Ankura, Katy was a Principal at a Risk and Accounting Advisory practice where she led the Healthcare Accounting and Internal Audit group. Katy also served in accounting and finance industry roles with Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and Fairview Health System in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Katy has deep, hands-on experience in healthcare revenue cycle, reimbursement accounting, accounts receivable valuation, and general/ledger/ERP system implementations, as well as management, board, private equity, and lender reporting. Katy began her career in public accounting at a global professional services firm in the Audit and Transaction Services Healthcare groups.
