He is a member of the Executive Advisory Board for the University of Mary Washington College of Business and served on the Advisory Council to the Board of Trustees for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Highlights of Christopher’s professional experience include:
- Innovation / Product Development: Developed a web-based solution that provides a large global bank the ability to actively manage regulatory, legal and operational change within their business.
- Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures: Assisted multiple financial institutions with the integration of banks including data migrations, regulatory reviews, and technology and operational assessments.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Algorithm: Acted as the Independent Consultant evaluating the use of AI / ML in the marketing of financial products in a settlement between the Department of Justice and a large social media company.
- Small Business Lending: Led multiple projects designing, building and executing the Paycheck Protection Program for Banks and a leading large payments company.
- Corporate Risk Assessments: For multiple large banking clients, conducted risk assessments focused on operational and regulatory risk for auto finance, home lending, small business banking, deposits, payments, commercial banking, marine lending, and other product types.
- Business Resiliency Redesign: Oversaw the corporate redesign of a large bank’s business resiliency program.
- Expert Witness: Served as an Expert Witness including testifying in Federal court for multiple mortgage servicing litigation matters focused on agency and government loan programs.
- Electronic / Off-Channel Communications: Assisted a large U.S Bank address a DOJ / SEC settlement for recordkeeping failures related to the use of electronic communications (e.g., texting, WhatsApp) including selecting technology solutions, updating human capital policies, and analyzing large datasets.
- Fair Credit Remediation: Led the remediation of millions of banking customers impacted by improper reporting practices under the Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA) resulting from legacy servicing systems.
- Regulatory Change Management: Designed and implemented an approach that allowed a large U.S. Bank to operationalize federal, state and international regulations and laws to meet a tight regulatory deadline including updating processes, controls, and procedures.
- Regulatory Reporting Strategy: Designed a validation approach for a large bank to establish sound fundamental principles that mitigate risk, establish controls, and provide for an effective error free regulatory reporting process.
- Auto Servicing Strategic Review: Assisted large auto lender with the transformation of their auto servicing processes including the sale of ancillary products, and treatment of military service members.
- Reverse Mortgage Assessment: Conducted an operational and regulatory review of a large reverse mortgage originator focused on marketing practices, disclosures, fraud controls, and the use of third parties.
- Operational Review: Evaluated the operational and fraud risks associated with the management, marketing and disposition of the country’s two largest Real Estate Owned (REO) portfolios.
- Home Lending Consent Order Remediation: Assisted a large bank client resolve multiple regulatory consent orders related to mortgage lending and servicing practices.
- Regulatory Compliance Review: Mobilized and led a team of 200 resources to perform an independent review focused on compliance with state and federal laws, investor guidelines and the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act.
